About CUA World

Mission Statement

CUA World is a bi-weekly newspaper dedicated to the unflagging pursuit of Truth, especially in relation to the campus community at The Catholic University of America. As stated in our first editorial: "All of us at CUA World are committed to the idea that no CUA student should graduate without first being introduced to a great writer, a great artist, a great mind who reflects in some way the deep vision of the Catholic faith." Accordingly, along with news that "affects the CUA community profoundly" we stress cultural reviews and contributions from the CUA Faculty that illustrate the intellectual vigor of The Catholic University of America where faith and reason join as one.

You can help!

Have you always wanted to write for a newspaper? Take photographs? Typeset a newspaper? Sell advertising? Mark other people’s articles with red pen? If you are dedicated to pursuing the Truth, in whatever way you can, we welcome you to the CUA World staff. Publishing a newspaper, in addition to being wonderful fun and a tremendous learning experience, is a lot of hard work. To continue production of this (we hope) insightful paper, we need your help! To get involved, just contact our Editor-in-Chief, Mike Devine (devinem@cua.edu) and let him know how you can help. To the Faculty especially, even though we know you are ever-busy, we extend a special invitation to get involved: write a guest column, or even an in-depth news article: we are by no means a "student-only" production, and we hope to foster faculty-student discussion outside of the classroom whenever possible.

Letters to the Editor

CUA World welcomes letters and guest columns. Although we cannot guarantee publication of any submission, we will try to print as many as practical, especially those that disagree with arguments in a previous issue. Every editor loves a well-argued, well-written letter, even if he absolutely disagrees with its conclusion. Submissions may be sent by email to devinem@cua.edu, or to our campus mailbox address below. Submissions must include the author’s name and telephone number to be considered for publication.
